01Our status: software, not advice
Frontier Folios Terminal is self-directed research and analytics software made by Flyweal Labs Private Limited. We are not registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) as an investment adviser, research analyst, stock broker, portfolio manager or in any other capacity, and we do not hold ourselves out as any of these.
Nothing in the Terminal, on this website, or in any communication from us is a recommendation, solicitation or offer to buy, sell or hold any security, derivative or other financial product. This includes AI answers, backtests, screens, example strategies, baskets, investor portfolios, alerts, agent outputs and drafted orders. Every decision to trade is yours, made at your own broker, in your own account.
Investments in securities markets are subject to market risks. Read all the related documents carefully before investing. Consider your objectives, financial situation and risk appetite, and seek advice from a SEBI-registered professional if you need it.
02Market, liquidity and volatility risk
- Prices of equities, ETFs and derivatives can fall as well as rise, sharply and without warning. You may lose some or all of the money you invest.
- Some securities trade thinly. You may not be able to buy or sell at the price you expect, or at all, and wide spreads add to your cost.
- Indian markets have circuit limits, trading halts and settlement rules that can prevent you from acting when you want to.
- Mid-cap and small-cap stocks, which many systematic strategies favour, are usually more volatile and less liquid than large caps.
03Futures and options
Derivatives are leveraged. Small moves in the underlying produce large gains or losses, margin calls can force you to add funds or close positions at a bad time, and option buyers can lose the entire premium while option sellers face losses far beyond the premium received.
SEBI’s own studies of individual traders in the equity F&O segment have found that roughly nine in ten lose money, and that the losers lose more in aggregate than the winners gain. The Terminal shows option chains, Greeks and derivatives analytics as information; it does not make derivatives suitable for you.
04Backtests, paper trading and simulated results
All backtests and paper records in the Terminal are hypothetical. They apply rules to past prices with the costs and assumptions shown on screen. Past or simulated performance does not indicate, and is no guarantee of, future results. In particular:
- Overfitting: rules tuned to history often fail outside it. The more you adjust a strategy to improve its past result, the less that result means.
- Look-ahead and survivorship: we use point-in-time index membership where the Terminal says so and disclose when we cannot; even so, data revisions, delistings and corporate actions can flatter history.
- Costs and slippage: backtests use estimated brokerage, STT, exchange charges, GST, stamp duty and a slippage assumption. Real fills can be worse, especially in thin names or large sizes.
- Data errors: historical files from exchanges and other sources can contain mistakes; a backtest is only as good as its data.
- Regime change: markets, regulations, taxes and liquidity change. A rule that worked for a decade can stop working.
- Paper trading does not experience real-world fills, margin calls, broker outages or emotional pressure, and it moves no money.
Figures on this website that look like charts are illustrations of the product generated from simulated data. They are not records of any portfolio and no return figures are implied.
05AI-generated research and agents
- AI models can produce output that is wrong, incomplete, out of date, or confidently misleading. Citations help you check; they do not make the answer correct.
- Agents act on the rules and data they are given. They can miss an event, misread a filing, or draft a rebalance that is wrong for you. Review everything before acting; nothing is placed without your confirmation.
- AI output is never personalised investment advice. It does not know your full financial situation, tax position or risk appetite unless you have told it, and even then it is software, not an adviser.
07Execution, broker and technology risk
- Orders are placed by you at your broker. Your broker may reject, delay or partially fill an order; prices can move between the Terminal’s basket and your confirmation.
- Broker APIs, exchanges, the internet and the Terminal itself can be slow or unavailable, including at the moment you most need them. Keep a direct route to your broker.
- Live prices come from your own broker session and can lag or drop; end-of-day data is by definition not current.
- Alerts and agents depend on data feeds and schedules and can be late or missed. Do not rely on them as your only safeguard.
08Data risk
Market data, fundamentals and filings come from exchanges and other public sources and may be delayed, incomplete or wrong. Where a figure can be stale the Terminal shows its source and as-of time. Check important figures with your broker or the exchange before acting.
09Tax and regulation
Trading has tax consequences, including securities transaction tax, capital gains tax and the treatment of F&O income as business income. The Terminal does not give tax advice; consult a qualified professional. Regulations on margins, position limits, API orders and algorithmic trading change and may restrict what you can do.
10Your responsibilities
- Understand a strategy, its assumptions and its risks before you trade it, and size positions so that you can survive the worst case the data shows, and worse.
- Keep your broker and Terminal credentials secure. Review every order on your broker’s page before confirming it.
- Use the Terminal only for your own decisions. Giving advice or research to others requires SEBI registration.
- Read your broker’s own risk disclosure documents, which the exchanges require them to give you.
